About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to join a growing engineering business which is ready to be taken through the next stage of their development. Reporting to the Board of Management, they will be responsible for leading, driving and developing business operations to ensure the steady and sustainable growth of the business.

Duties

• Developing and implementing strategic business plans and ensuring appropriate budgets are allocated
• Overseeing and managing daily business operations
• Determine best practices for better productivity level within the Company.
• Management of senior staff (Operations Manager/Project Managers/Administration Manager)
• Formulate business standards for managers and their staff
• Perform staff appraisals for all managers
• Facilitate the recruitment of suitably qualified staff including the preparation position documentation
• Demonstrate Duty of Care by ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all people in the workplace.
• Demonstrate commitment to OH&S through the implementation and review of policies and procedures

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience
• Masters of Business Administration (MBA) OR degree qualified in Engineering or Science, coupled with Business Management qualification
• Keen intellect with interest in business development/growth
• Proven financial and resource management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and report writing skills
• Proven experience of innovative best practices in regards to customer service, care and satisfaction
• Highly developed human resource management skills including, recruitment and performance appraisal experience
• Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft Office and Project Management/ Financial Management Software
• Able to project strong leadership, institutional strength, and a shared vision of cooperation and shared support to the staff and senior management.
• Goal-orientated, project-orientated and achievement-orientated
